YES!!
It’s the day QUEEN–with Freddie Mercury defying doctor’s orders NOT to perform due to throat issues–brought “IT” to the world, and stole the show! All these years later, QUEEN still holds the crown.
I’m feeling the hype, the excitement and a bit of melancholia.
It’s been 40 years since Bob Geldof worked his magic for Live Aid, and convinced and cajoled the greatest musical talents to perform on one – no, TWO – stages. It’s been 40 years since the world was united for one cause–to help starving and suffering people in desperate need.
WE need that unity again.
We need the love, the music, the hope and the thrill that Live Aid brought us.
Maybe a look at the joy of that unity back will restore some wonder, some hope and some action in us for today.
Here is one tiny blip among the NUMEROUS highlights of the day – QUEEN’s short of Freddie’s “Aye-O”!
